Request Assistance

AMRF helps your community, hospital, clinic or health center in 3 ways.

1. Equipment for Your Facility AMRF donates refurbished but fully functional medical equipment to non-military hospitals and clinics serving poor people in developing nations. After a shipment arrives at a recipient hospital, AMRF is prepared to offer technical assistance by telephone, email, and FAX as a standard feature of our AMRF shipments.

Online Application (this will become a link) Use our online application to request medical equipment and hospital supplies please fill out and submit the application form.  Upon receipt of your application, AMRF will evaluate your qualifications for donations by AMRF and the equipment and supplies you are requesting.  We will notify you regarding acceptance or non-acceptance of your application.  If your application is accepted by AMRF we will send you a proposal indicating the equipment and supplies we feel we can donate, the number and size of containers required and an estimate (invoice) of your share of the cost of our making this donation, including a proposed payment plan.

Additional Information When we have received the funds for your share of the donation cost we will start the collection and assignment of equipment and supplies to your hospital.  We will provide progress reports if requested.  Upon completing the collection of items for each container, we will notify you and send you a proposed ship list for your approval.  Upon receiving your approval and the balance of any further payments required, we will ship to the port you indicate.  Please note that you will be responsible to pass the containers through customs and transport them to the location of your hospital(s).  You’ll find further details about this process along with the Application Guidelines here.

2. Technical Assistance With advanced planning and under a separate application/proposal process, AMRF also offers technical assistance and training onsite at recipient hospitals. Our qualified biomedical engineers and technicians teach maintenance procedures and assist in setting up your maintenance and calibration facilities. Onsite technical assistance is not a standard feature of our equipment donation process and must be arranged separately and in advance. Please ask us about on-site training options and AMRF would be glad to submit a proposal to you. We need a page that describes a bit more about Technical Assistance with contact info for requests. Who can write this page?

3. Centers of Training and Maintenance   AMRF establishes centers where community members are trained to test, calibrate and repair biomedical equipment. These centers are developed to be managed and staffed by local in-country personnel. They are equipped by AMRF with modern medical equipment test and calibration facilities that can be shared by groups of health care facilities in a region, thereby reducing the costs to each organization while providing the same services. Through the Centers local people are provided with technical training and employment.
